This year's Dorcas Fair, thanks to the array of Superheroes disguised as members of the Class of 2018, raised funds that will be going to charity.
The 2017 Dorcas Fair – Superheroes for Charity!
The 2017 Dorcas Fair on Sunday, January 8, was a super-powered event, thanks to the array of Superheroes on hand to run the annual fundraiser organized by this year's junior class.
Wearing costumes depicting a wide range of comic book and movie superheroes, the Class of 2018 were led by First Head of Dorcas Eva Familia, Second Head Maddie Hurtgen, and Third Head Maryam Choudhry, who coordinated the planning and running of the event with faculty advisor Maggie Nunez-Fernandez '98.
Their classmates, along with parent and faculty volunteers, staffed tables in the Fuller Athletic Center Gymnasium that featured refreshments, henna-painting, fortune-telling, and other activities. Students, faculty and staff, parents, alumnae, and their families could also bid on a range of auction items, try their hand at scaling the climbing wall, take part in jousts on an inflatable platform, and take aim, armed with whipped-cream pies, at the faces of faculty volunteers.
Proceeds from the Dorcas Fair, which dates back to the founding of the School, will be allocated to charitable organizations selected by the Class of 2018.
