Outdoor Program

A unique offering in independent schools, the Outdoors program introduces students to outdoor education.
The program's primary mission is to develop environmental stewardship, leadership, athleticism, and enjoyment of the natural environment. Outdoors uses facilities and trails on the Westover grounds, including a 40-foot high rock climbing wall, as well as trails and parks throughout Connecticut. In the spring the program traditionally offers a weekend backpacking trip to an out of state forest or national park.
