Junior Varsity Field Hockey
Junior Varsity Field Hockey 2016
The Junior Varsity Field Hockey program provides students the opportunity to learn sportsmanship, hard work, and commitment. The girls learn to communicate with their teammates and build character through dedication as well as the development of their own skills and helping each other improve. The JV team provides players an opportunity to compete with each other as well as other private schools. New players learn the basics and can build their skill sets in order to contribute to the varsity team in their future.
The young squad consists of 13 players, of which nine are new to the sport entirely! With the varsity team graduating seven seniors, several players moved up. The JV team is coached by Ellie Jones in her first season.
The Swim Team has made a big splash in the eight-year-old program's record books this season; seven of its 11 school records have been shattered.
Six Westover Wildcats representing all four varsity teams from the fall season have been honored as all-stars.
History was made Friday evening at the Fuller Athletic Center. Westover junior Gabbie Dunn became the first student-athlete in Westover history to reach 1,000 career points.
