Junior Varsity Tennis


JV Team 2017

The JV tennis program teaches the fundamentals of strokes and how to become a better competition player through a mix of drills, practice, strategy sessions, and match play. Each practice session is designed to maximize hits with a specific focus; footwork, technical skills, serves and attacking skills. The players have fun while developing skills to be able to play at the next level.

The team on average carries 12 players. They have approximately 10 matches per season allowing them to develop court strategy while experiencing good competition.

Five Athletes Named All-NEPSAC

Westover was represented well in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Conference this winter with five athletes being named All-NEPSAC in swimming and basketball.

At the Winter Sports Awards held on March 1, each team was recognized and the girls were awarded their letters, pins, and certificates. Nineteen students received team awards, while four were recognized as All-CISAC (Connecticut Independent School Athletic Conference), three as CISAC Honorable Mention, and one as a NEPSAC (New England Preparatory School Athletic Council) All-Star.
