Junior Varsity Volleyball
JV Volleyball 2016
Westover's JV Volleyball program is the foundation and stepping-stone to building our competitive Varsity program. Because we believe in the law of primacy, we strive to have our team members master the fundamentals. Our practices incorporate proper conditioning, footwork, and individual skills of passing, digging, setting, attacking, blocking, and serving. Our philosophy at this level is for our players to gain as much experience as possible. This is achieved by getting our players as much "game time" as we can. By including this doctrine into our program we have seen our players soar to new heights with their confidence, ability, and team communication. We spare no pains in trying to make our players become the best they can be and advance them to the varsity program.
The 2016 team consists of several returners but also new talent. The team is coached by Dak Mannella.
The Swim Team has made a big splash in the eight-year-old program's record books this season; seven of its 11 school records have been shattered.
Six Westover Wildcats representing all four varsity teams from the fall season have been honored as all-stars.
History was made Friday evening at the Fuller Athletic Center. Westover junior Gabbie Dunn became the first student-athlete in Westover history to reach 1,000 career points.
