Varsity Squash 2016-2017
The passion for Westover Squash has continued to grow since the inception of the program in 2002. In addition to the Varsity program, the growth and popularity of the sport over the years has lead to the addition of a JV and Thirds teams. With players ranging from beginners to New England Champions, the program is built with an emphasis on fundamentals, dedication and love of the game.
Similar to other varsity sports at Westover, emphasis is placed on preparing players to compete at the collegiate level. Westover squash alums feature current players at defending US Champion Trinity College, Bates, Dickinson, Franklin and Marshall, Haverford and Hobart.
The 2015-2016 team, coached by Jennifer Pelletier, brought home the school's first ever Division IV High School National Title and runner-up at New England's.
The 2016-2017 team is coached by Myriam Kelly '11, in her first season.
The Swim Team has made a big splash in the eight-year-old program's record books this season; seven of its 11 school records have been shattered.
Six Westover Wildcats representing all four varsity teams from the fall season have been honored as all-stars.
History was made Friday evening at the Fuller Athletic Center. Westover junior Gabbie Dunn became the first student-athlete in Westover history to reach 1,000 career points.
