Health Services

Our on campus Health Center is covered 24 hours a day, seven days a week by healthcare professionals.

The Health Center operates under the license of a local pediatrician specializing in adolescent medicine. A doctor is available on campus to see students three mornings a week in the Health Center and by appointment in her office at all other times.

The daily operation of the Health Center is coordinated by three registered nurses. The Health Center staff also includes three counselors who are available for emotional support to students at any time.

General Information

The Health Center offers a network of services including: nutritional counseling, acute minor illness, limited immunizations and lab work, referrals to specialists for second opinions, health education, and psychological counseling. Health Center staff are also involved with our SAT (Student Assistance Team) which meets weekly to discuss ways to provide academic, physical or emotional support to students.

The Westover Infirmary consists of six beds, three of which are licensed for overnight stays that require extended medical care, isolation, and limited post-operative nursing.

Privacy and Confidentiality

The Health Center staff at Westover abides by both federal and state laws protecting patient information in the health care setting as well as those laws regarding adolescent access to medical care and right to privacy. Health Center staff will communicate with parents, advisors, dorm parents, etc., with respect to these laws, in a manner that best serves our students.
