Basketball

 

Competing in the NEPSAC and CISAC leagues, Westover has been a top competitor. The Wildcats finished the 2007 season 15-5 and look to improve on that record this year as the Wildcats return three starters from the 2007 season including a New England All Star and CISAC All League player. The team will be competing in a national tournament in Orlando, FL in December. The team qualified and was invited to the WNEPSWBA tournament and finished eighth overall in 2004 and 05. For the past six seasons, the Wildcats have qualified for the CISAC Tournament.  Since 2000, Westover has had a player selected to play in the New England All Star Game. Two players were selected in 2005, they are currently competing at Johns Hopkins University and Swarthmore.

The goal of the Westover Basketball program is to be among the top competitors in the leagues in which we play and to make a show in the New England tournament.  As a team the Wildcats focus on the fundamentals of basketball, employ aggressive defense and expect a high level of commitment and discipline to achieve their goals.
