Cross Country is the youngest and one of the most successful programs
at Westover. Since its inception in the fall of 2003, the team has
captured four Connecticut Independent School Athletic Conference league
championships as well as a Div. IV New England Championship in 2003.
The team prides itself on its work ethic and dedication to their
sport and their school.
During the 2004 pre-season, the team created its own 3.1-mile course
that tumbles through the hills and woods of the Westover campus. After
claiming a New England title in the first season of the sport at
Westover, the team moved up two divisions and finished fourth in Div.
II in 2004, behind Governor Dummer, Suffield and St. George’s. The
establishment of a home course and the squad’s early successes should
enable a continued growth in the program.
