Westover’s team visited Chase on Wednesday to come home with a 16-8 victory, for the Wildcats’ 5th of the season and winning pitcher, Anneka Choi’s as well. On the mound, Choi dished out five strikeouts in the five-inning game. Offensively, she led the team with four runs scored. The game took a nerve-racking start as the Wildcats had to come back from a 0-5 first inning deficit, which then turned into 1-7 in the second. TheWildcats changed their pace in the third and fourth, scoring four and then fiveruns to total 10, and holding Chase to their 7. In the top of the fifth, the Wildcats added six insurance runs to reach 16, as Chase fought for one more run in their fifth and final bottom of the inning. The Wildcats made only two defensive errors in the game, good for a team best. Outstanding offensive player of the game is accredited to second baseman, Frances Delfin who was 2-3 with 3RBI and a run scored. She reached base three out offour chances. Center fielder Akua Obeng went 1-2 on the day and crossed home three times, in addition to making twoincredibly defensive catches. The other Wildcat who connected for a single was catcher Vicky Rousseau. The Wildcats totaled four hits in the game tothe opponents’ two. Westover takes on Rumsey at home on Friday at 4:30PM.
