A Westover education continuously feeds our students' intellectual hunger.

Our teachers are up for the challenge of keeping young minds open to new ideas and different opinions -- to give them a solid and broad education that is their springboard into the future.

Westover's dedicated teachers meet regularly with students in what we call "conferences", one-on-one sessions in which ideas are exchanged, concepts clarified, and student-teacher relationships are created, extended, and energized.

By the instruction and example of their teachers, and more importantly, of one another, students learn how to write, how to reason, how to ask meaningful questions, how to make good decisions, and how to take responsibility for their own ongoing education.

In addition to becoming well-grounded in core subjects our students challenge themselves with 17 Advanced Placement courses, delve into our 75 electives, -- such as "The Times, They are a Changin'": America in the 1960s, Tolstoy's War and Peace, The Feminine Point of View in the Arts, The Chemistry of Art -- choose among 37 art courses, perform in a play, sing with our Glee Club, or learn about the world through one of our many exchange programs.
