Westover students and faculty will take part in a workshop to explore how we as individuals have learned to make value judgments and assumptions about race, religion, gender, social class and sexuality based on outward appearances. Derrick Gay, a nationally renowned educational consultant with 15 years of independent school experience, will lead the workshop, which will be held Friday evening, April 26th.

Westover's Theater Department will present a workshop production of Bronwyn Sims' solo show, Moment of Impact, on Friday, May 10th, at 7:30 pm in the Louise B. Dillingham Performing Arts Center.

Westover's Theater Department will present its spring term production of William Shakespeare's Measure for Measure on Friday and Saturday, May 3rd and 4th, beginning at 7:00 pm in the School's Performing Arts Center.

In Good Faith, a play by Joe Godfrey of Roxbury, will be performed as a reading at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 28th, at the Minor Memorial Library, 23 South St., Roxbury. The production is directed by Marla Truini, Director of Drama at Westover and a Roxbury resident.

Girls in 7th grade and their parents who are considering options for high school are invited to attend a Seventh Grade Preview Program at Westover School on Friday, April 26th, from 3 to 5 pm.

Tatiana Fonseca '07 will give a presentation on "How Rome Became the Christian Capital of the World" on Tuesday, April 23rd, at 7 pm at St. John of the Cross Church in Middlebury. The presentation, which is open to the public at no charge, will be given in Fanning Hall, located in the lower level of the church.

After the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14th, there was a world-wide outpouring of support for the victims' families and to the Newtown community as a whole. Two Westover students – Gabrielle DeBartolomeo '14 and Catherine Caroe '14 – were among those whose quiet but substantial efforts reflect a wonderful generosity of spirit shown in response.

Westover's Glee Club and Handbell Ensembles will perform a concert with the Waterbury Youth Chorus on Sunday, April 14th, at 4 pm, at St. John's Church on the Green in Waterbury. Admission is free; no tickets are required to attend the performance.

This year's Annual Dance Concert, "Spiritus," will be performed on two nights – Friday, April 19th, and Saturday, April 20th – starting at 7:30 pm in Westover's Louise B. Dillingham Performing Arts Center. The performances are open to the public at no charge, but donations to support the dance program will be gratefully accepted.

"Portraits & Behind the Scenes," an exhibition of photographs by Westover School alumna Wheaton Bullock Mahoney '89, will be on display in Westover's Schumacher Gallery from March 26th through April 20th.

The 2013 Connecticut Classic, the Connecticut Dance Alliance's third annual ballet scholarship competition, will be held in Westover's Louise B. Dillingham Performing Arts Center on Saturday and Sunday, March 9th and 10th.

The members of the Westover Varsity Squash Team were excellent competitors in the 2013 New England Interscholastic Squash Association Tournament last weekend at Pomfret. The team was seated in Division B but each player was part of a different bracket based upon her number on the team. Westover finished 12th out of 15 teams, which was higher than the team was seeded going into the tournament.

Members of the Westover community will be featured in the Kiva Dance Collective's 14th Annual Concerts on Saturday, February 23rd, at 7:30 pm and Sunday, February 24th, at 2:00 pm in Westover's Louise B. Dillingham Performing Arts Center Theater.
