PARENTS' COUNCIL PROGRAMS

PURPOSE OF THE PARENTS’ COUNCIL

The purpose of the Parents’ Council is to function in a supportive role to the School in four main areas: Fundraising, Student Life/Student Affairs, Admissions and Outreach. Danette and Lee Dierdorff (P’13) have agreed to take on the responsibility of Co-Presidents of the Parents' Council. They have been vital members of the Council for the past three years, assisting on many events at the school. This year's council will again be comprised of four committees. Each oversees certain functions within the school to complement all that the faculty and administration do daily.

Student Life/Student Affairs Committee – Co-Chaired by Alison Lanman (P’14) and Lori Littman (P’14)

This group of volunteers will strive to make the most of your daughter's non-academic time at Westover. This committee organizes and supports special events, such as the Glee Concert, Drama Productions and Dance Recitals. There are other great programs such as Adopt-a-Corridor/Lounge and the Local Family Sponsored Dinners.

Parent Outreach Committee - Co-Chaired by Susan Danielowski (P’14) and Priti Ghatlia (P’14)

This committee supports the faculty and staff at Westover by providing special opportunities for appreciation such as the “Feed Our Faculty & Staff” events held once each term.

Monthly Parent Meetings -
Chaired by Danette Dierdorff (P’13); Secretary: Karen Basset (P’15)

Meetings are held for parents in Red Hall six times a year and provide an opportunity for a social and informational gathering. The dates for the 2012-2013 meetings are: Tuesday September 4, 1-2 pm in the Walker Room; Thursday, October 25 5:00 - 7:00 pm, LBD (Reception for Parents' Weekend); Thursday, November 8, 7:00 pm in Red Hall; Thursday, January 10, 7:00 pm in Red Hall; Thursday February 7, 7:00 pm in Red Hall; and Thursday, April 18, 7:00 pm in Hillard House.

Parent Annual Fund Committee- Co-Chaired by Alexandra & George Guanci (P’13)

One of the great contributors to the Annual Fund in years past has been the Parents group. Of course, we hope to be able to show our continued support there.
