Westover to Present The Drowsy Chaperone February 15 &16
Westover's drama students will stage the musical The Drowsy Chaperone, on Friday, February 15, and Saturday, February 16, at 7 pm in the School's Louise B. Dillingham Performing Arts Center theatre. The performances are open to the public; there is no admission charge, but donations are gratefully accepted.
The Drowsy Chaperone is a parody of a musical comedy of the 1920's, with music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, its book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar, and orchestrations by Larry Blank. Billed as "A Musical Within a Comedy," it tells the story of a lonely New Yorker who loves musical theatre. As he plays his favorite record, the fictional 1928 hit The Drowsy Chaperone, the show comes to life onstage. The original production won five Tony Awards and continues to please audiences of all ages with its hilarious characters, engaging songs and dances, and generous spirit. Theatre Program Director Marla Truini is directing the production, collaborating with Musical Director Robert Havery, Choreographer Emily Diedrich, and Technical Director Ian Diedrich.

The technical crew includes Lire Bolden '19, Reeya Desai '22, Emilie Hart '19, Dylan Norris '19, Izzy Poskas '21, Teresa Shi '19, and My Van '20.
Costumes have been created by Ashley Harlow '19 and Maddie Siefert '20, under the supervision of Penny Covill. Props are the responsibility of Natalie Brown '21 and Isabel Gittines '22, under the supervision of Shammy Raj P'19.
