Swim Team 2017-2018
Following the inception of the program in the 2009-2010 winter season, the Westover Swimming program has seen fast growth and impressive improvement.
Though competition in swimming tends to have an individual focus, the challenging nature of the practices and the tight-knit nature of the team creates a camaraderie that is truly special.
The girls' hard work at practice has led to several New England qualifiers each year, with the potential for many more this 2018-19 winter season. This past season, Westover earned 5 top-eight finishes at the DIII NE Championships, including a #2 finish in the 50yrd Free. In 2016-17, the team had an individual first place finish and two second place finishes which included the Westover record-setting 200 freestyle relay. The Wildcats finished first in the CISAC Championships in 2017 after a second (’16) and third (’15).
The Wildcats are excited to continue growing this tradition and will welcome several varsity returners back to the team this season including senior leaders Gabby Young ’19, and Brigid Protzmann ’19. Annabelle Pernerewski ’21 will look to break more personal and Westover records.
Westover is coached by Jessica Broderick. (First season.)
