Westover Rowing 2018
Westover is happy to announce that the rowing program will be returning to Lake Quassapaug for its sixth year in 2018. The program continues to grow since the first five Westover girls established the program in the Spring of 2013. Riley Boeth ’13, Liv Burns ’14, Sarah Peterson ’15, Isabelle Morrissey ’16, and coxswain Julia Copper ’15 – had the privilege of participating in a pilot program associated with Chase Collegiate School in the spring of 2013.
That first year, Westover competed in a total of six races in a borrowed 4+. The program now owns its own boat, trailer and support equipment. The team is fortunate to be able to practice on nearby Lake Quassapaug. The Wildcats hope to participate in some competitive races throughout this spring.
This season, the team consists of 11 rowers including returning senior captain Tegan McBride and this year, sits stroke with second-year starting coxswain Gabby Young '19 in her third year with the program. The team is coached by Athletic Director, TIz Mulligan.
