Glimpse of the Week

Happy New Year! What a joy it is to have the girls return from break and fill the building up once again. 2019 is off to a quick start with full day conference on women and girls coming into their own authority. Rachel Simmons was the keynote speaker for the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) public portion of the day, which she followed by leading extensive student session, and finished the day with parent piece on supporting and guiding your daughters. What a wonderful celebration of women and girls! If you missed the session, you can watch here.

One of our most meaningful traditions at Westover occurs this Sunday in the Fuller Athletic Center (FAC). Put on by the junior class as a fundraiser to benefit organization in our local community, the Dorcas Fair will run from 2:15 p.m. till 4:15 p.m. This long standing tradition gives many students their first insight into philanthropy and the power of giving back to a community. Please come join in the fun and invite friends and family as the fair is open to the public.

Finally, a week from Friday, on January 18th at 6:30 p.m. we will have the opening reception for Mohamad Hafez's exhibition in the Schumacher Gallery. Please mark your calendars as this is not a show to miss! He worked this fall in collaboration with our students in a visual arts class to produce the primary piece in the show.

From the Academic Office

Students taking an AP class will receive the 2018-19 Bulletin for AP Students and Parents in their mailboxes on Friday. AP exams will be administered May 6-10 and May 13-17. The cost of each exam is $94, which will be charged to student accounts at the conclusion of the testing period.
Please contact Shelby Neal if you have any questions.
