The Pollina Center

Ann S. Pollina Center for Women In Science & Engineering

As WISE has become an integral part of our culture, all of our students have strengthened these essential skills. In response to the growing demand for this program, Westover built a new Center for Women in Science and Engineering, which was completed in the spring of 2017.

For over 20 years, WISE has been a signature program at Westover. This new Center will greatly expand the program, allowing us to engage more students in engineering and computer science... and keeping Westover firmly positioned as a leader in girls' education.

This dedicated, state-of-the-art facility features the following:

  • Maker Space:
    • Complete with a general work area, well-equipped with supplies and tools, which allows more students to work on more projects.
  • Robotics Lab:
    • Enables tremendous expansion of our robotics program — a semi-permanent field, better storage, and generous counter space, and increased access to each robot project.
  • A dedicated classroom space
    • Used for computer science and engineering electives, which support a broader range of individual and group work.
