Westover School Packing List 2025-2026

Clothes:

Westover School's dress code allows for student expression, therefore, there is no specified school uniform. The expectation is that students dress in a respectful manner during the academic day in clothes that are modest, neat, and clean, and free from holes and fraying. The full dress code can be found in the Student Handbook on The HUB after July 1, 2025. 

Suggestions:
  • Several pairs of pants (sweatpants, jeans, slacks)
  • A week’s worth of shirts (both long sleeve and short)
  • A week’s worth of socks and undergarments (underwear, bras, tanks, spandex)
  • Formal clothes (skirts, nice pants, blouse, button up shirts, nice sweater)
  • Pajamas/Night wear (sweatpants, 
  • Shoes for all occasions 
  • Winter Gear that includes jackets/coats, sweaters, hats, mittens/gloves, scarf, & boots (rain boots will also work just as well!)
     
Westover does have a school uniform that is worn to formal school traditions, which is provided to all students. Measurements will be taken when students arrive on campus, and new uniforms will be distributed in early December.
Additional items needed for school traditions include: 
Navy blue dress shoes (flats or small heels, no sneakers) 
 
Sports Clothing and Equipment:
Sports uniforms are provided by the school for each team, and certain equipment is available for purchase. Students are expected to bring appropriate clothes for practice.
Suggested practice clothes: 
  • Sport shorts  
  • Sneakers and/or cleats 
  • T-shirts 
  • Sweatshirts
  • Sweatpants 
  • Sport socks
  • Spandex shorts
  • Leggings/yoga pants
  • Leotards and tights (for dance; ballet slippers or pointe shoes if necessary)


Dorm Supplies:

Each student will be provided with a bed, desk with chair and bookshelf, dresser, and lockable closet space.

Suggested dorm supplies:
These supplies can also be purchased upon arrival as there will be several opportunities to go to local department stores

  • 2 pair of extra long twin sheets 2 sets of bath towels
  • Shower supplies (soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower caddy etc)
  • Shower shoes (flip flops) 
  • Bathrobe
  • Hairbrush, hair dryer or other necessary hair products 
  • Feminine products- Pads and tampons or period underwear
  • Laundry basket and detergent 
  • Clothes hangers
  • Fan (for the early Fall season and late Spring season)
  • Power strip and extension cord 
  • Desk Lamp for additional lighting  (optional) 
  • Desk supplies (stapler, tape, scissors) 
  • Tissues
  • White sticky tack (tape not permitted on walls)
  • Snacks and water or sports drinks 
  • Plate, bowl, cup and flatware 
  • Dish soap and sponge for wash dishes and utensils
  • Towel or drying towel for washed dishes
  • Reusable Water Bottle
  • Alarm Clock (not all students have access to phone alarm - see Phone Policy in the Student Handbook) 
  • Clorox Wipes and  Hand Sanitizer
  • Small vacuum cleaner (optional but helpful!) 

Please note: Over the counter and prescription medications are not allowed in student possession unless approved by the health center. All Dorm Faculty have a medication kit with common over the counter medications.  All prescription medications are coordinated through the health center and dorm faculty team. Please see the health center medication guidelines in the August Schools for further details. 

School Supplies

Westover does not specify the needed supplies for classes. Students are required to have a laptop (Macintosh preferred) and a TI-84 graphing calculator. Some basic school supplies are available in our school store.
Information on purchasing textbooks will be available from the Academic Office in late summer. Additional information can also be found on the Parent Portal of the Westover School website.

  • Three-ring binders
  • Loose-leaf paper
  • College lined Notebooks (2 to start)
  • Pens/pencils/highlights
  • Notecards
  • Planner

This is a reminder to please not send any heating elements with your child, like hot pots, water heaters, heating pads, or anything that gets warm. If found, the items will be confiscated and returned to students at the end of the academic year.
