Bats Show Up In Westover School Win Against Miss Hall’s School
There were runs aplenty on Saturday, as Westover School beat Miss Hall’s School 19-9. Westover School collected 11 hits.
Westover School won thanks in part to 11 runs in the first inning. Hurtgen singled, Coggin drew a walk. Bird singled, and Santos singled, Mitchell doubled, Goldman and Coggins drew a walk, and Bird singled, scoring three runs.
Westover School scored eight runs on five hits in the top of the second inning. Hurtgen, Coggin, Bird, Yi, and Nembhard singled.
Miss Hall’s School scored seven runs on zero hits in the bottom of the second inning.
Bird started the game for Westover School. The starting pitcher surrendered zero hits and nine runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking 10.
Westover School accumulated 11 hits in the game. Bird led Westover School with three hits in three at-bats. Hurtgen, Mitchell, and Bird each drove in two runs for Westover School.
