Cats Lose Playoff Thriller

It was a battle to the very last possession.
The Wildcats left everything on the floor in their final game of the season, storming back with an explosive 23-6 run in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough. The Cats lost their first round playoff game to a tough Watkinson team in a nail biter. Despite the furious last quarter comeback, they fell short by a single point in a heartbreaking finish.
Aniella delivered another dominant performance netting 15 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, dishing 4 assists, to go along with a steal. A double-double in the biggest game of the year. She controlled the glass, facilitated the offense, and set the tone for the fourth-quarter surge.
Sophie was relentless inside, finishing with 10 points — including two massive fourth-quarter buckets that ignited the comeback — along with a game leading 18 rebounds, 3 steals, and 4 assists. Every loose ball felt like it belonged to her.
Akemi came up clutch from deep, knocking down three 3-pointers and hitting a huge bucket in the fourth quarter. She added 7 rebounds in a performance that stretched the floor and kept the defense honest.
Nadia chipped in 3 key points, while Emilia stepped up in a critical defensive assignment when the Wildcats needed it most. Her lockdown effort on one of their top players shifted the momentum late in the game. She also grabbed 4 rebounds in a gritty performance.
Eva battled on the boards, pulling down 7 rebounds and giving the Wildcats second-chance opportunities.
And the defensive intensity didn’t stop there — contributions from Georgia,Terese, and Emma helped fuel the defensive lockdown that nearly completed the comeback.
The Wildcats showed resilience. They showed fight. They showed what it means to represent Westover.
It was a tough ending — the Cats had opportunities but the ball just didn’t fall in the final moments. But this team proved something bigger in their last game of the season. They proved they never quit. They proved they can rise under pressure. And they proved that the future of Westover basketball is bright.
Go Wildcats.
